The ePostmark, as will be transmitted to the government service centers, consists of the following components

The 8 digit time in the YYYYMMDD format,
The time component in the HHMM format,
Our time zone.

The ePostmark, in effect tells the service centers when the return was received by us. We consider the return to be received when the return data entry process is completed, the constructed return summary is accepted by the user and the payment of the fee, if applicable for our services are is accepted OnLine.

It should be noted that the ePostmark is issued at our location and our date, just as it would occur in the offices of the U. S. Postal Service. It is our understanding that the government makes adjustments to this time based on the time zone of taxpayer. Our ePostmark makes no warranties as to where you were when you electronically completed, sealed or electronically signed the return.

Once an ePostmark is generated, we retain this ePostmark as your ePostmark of record. In the event that your return is rejected, the corrected return will also retransmit with the same ePostmark of record. If however, the time of retransmission of your return is beyond the allowed time limit to retransmit timely filed returns, a new ePostmark will be issued and that new ePostmark will be your ePostmark of record. In the latter case, it is presumed that, in the absence of an extension, late filing may occur and create appropriate penalties and interest.
