What happens if my return is accepted?

If your return is ACCEPTED
, and you qualified for and chose to use a
Self Selected PIN
, you need to take no other action.
If you did not use the Self Selected PIN, you will need to file a Form 8453-OL to the IRS. We will provide this form to you, with the required fields already filled out, ready for dating and signature. You may also download a blank Form 8453-OL for review or to complete. We can make the following available to you by eMail:
The date your transmitted (eFiled)return was accepted.
Your (and if applicable, your spouse's) name(s), Social Security Number(s), address, other communication references, filing status in numerical format, the whole dollar amount of refund or balance due.
Your Declaration Control Number (DCN), whole dollar amounts of Total Income, Total Tax and the Federal Income Tax withheld.
Where and how you will be mailing this form.
Once we receive the acknowledgement of your eFiled return's acceptance form the IRS, we have no further information about or control of your refund process. Because

Within 24 hours of being informed of the acceptance of your return (or receipt of your filled Form 8453-OL), you are required to mail a Form 8453-OL and the other paper portions of your tax return. According to IRS Publication 1345, in addition to Form 8453-OL, the applicable "paper portion" of your return may include the following:
If no attachments are required, the Form 8453-OL, only.
If required, documents containing required signatures must be stapled to the back of Form 8453-OL. Following are examples of such documents:
2.1 Form 8283 - Non-cash Charitable Contributions (Section B - Appraisal Summary), and;
2.2 Form 8332 - Release of Claim to Exemption for Child of Divorced or Separated Parents, and;
2.3 From 2848 - Power of Attorney and Declaration Representative.
Other information documents that are not listed above, or that are voluntarily being included with the return by the taxpayer as supporting material to be stapled to the back of Form 8453-OL. DO NOT attach W-2 or 1099 Forms, or other portions of the return such as the cover page.
